Tuesday, September 1, 6-9 pm

Are you interested in learning more about homeschooling and other alternative ways of learning outside of a traditional school model?  Join us for this special Homeschool 101 Info night and screening of the documentary Class Dismissed.

Arlene from Inspire Charter Schools will be available to discuss an incredible homeschool opportunity to those who are interested in a tuition-free full time program with a 2-day-a-week enrichment opportunity, featuring Project Based Learning and STEAM education.

Larry Burch from STEAM Powered Education will be there to discuss the enrichment programs available to grades 3-5 and grades 6-12.  If you are a parent, or want a fresh perspective on education and how people learn, you won’t want to miss this showing!

Movie runs 90 minutes, with time after for a Q&A with the hosts. Kids are welcome to attend.

kites

Saturday, September 5, 2-4 pm

Huntington Beach
Come to the park and explore Flight! You can build a kite or make a stomp rocket! (While supplies last, please indicate you’re coming on the Facebook page linked above so we can get a head count!)

Jessica will have supplies to make your own kite. You can engineer your own, or follow the simple instructions to make a more typical kite. She will also have build-your-own Stomp Rockets. YOU WILL NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN 2 LITER SODA BOTTLE! Everything else will be provided!

Jessica will also be available to answer questions about the new location for Steam Powered Education, which has partnered with Inspire Charter Schools to offer an incredible STEAM enrichment opportunity.

We will meet in the park behind Kathy May’s Lakeview Cafe. There is a restroom, and to the right (looking from the parking lot) there is a shelter. If the shelter is free we will meet there, otherwise we’ll set up at the far right corner under the trees and near the playground.
